A reinvented word game. Find words starting with a given letter across chosen categories.

At a glance

How it works

The concept follows the classic word game: a letter is drawn at random, and players must find words starting with that letter in the displayed categories (city, animal, profession, etc.). Everything happens on their phone, with a time limit.

How a game plays out

Setup

Before starting, you can adjust:

• The number of rounds
• The time per round (in seconds)
• The categories used

During the game

1. A letter appears on the screen
2. The categories show up on each player's phone
3. Players type their answers as fast as possible
4. A countdown shows the remaining time
5. When time runs out, answers are compared and points awarded

End of the game

The final leaderboard is displayed. Players who found unique words (that nobody else found) earn bonus points.

Hosting tips

At the start: "It's P'tit Bac time! A letter will appear and you need to find a word for each category starting with that letter. Watch out -- original answers score more points!"

During the game:

• Comment on tricky letters: "Q! Good luck everyone!"
• Read out some creative answers between rounds
• Point out duplicate answers: "4 people said the same thing!"
